No motorized vehicles are allowed on Gili Trawangan, so visitors must walk, cycle or use a horse-drawn carriage. Even so, visitors can still experience the exciting island exploration because of the relatively small size of the island, so it only takes an hour to cycle around the island.

Bicycles are the best mode of transportation for getting around the island. Besides being healthy and minimal in pollution, bicycles provide a fun experience while exercising and enjoying the panorama and wind of the Gili Trawangan beach. Bike rentals can easily be found all over the island. Some hotels and inns usually provide rentals for guests.

Sunset Hunting

The Gili Islands are famous for their epic sunset views. The best spot to see the sunset can be found on the west side of the island behind Mount Agung. At the southern end of the island, there is a hill that can be reached in half an hour on foot. Visitors can also enjoy the sunset while sipping cold drinks by the beach while sitting at the bar. There are plenty of beach bars and little shacks ready to serve cold beer or fresh coconuts. Chairs or beanbags are also provided to relax.
